Bye week
The 49ers do not have any action scheduled this weekend, so it is basically the team's bye week.
However, the Beach resumes play next week, April 29, in the Big West Tournament at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Since the team holds the No. 1 seed – 7-1 in conference play – it plays the winner of the 8/9-seed match.
This season marks LBSU's fourth consecutive Big West title.

The Last Homestand
This weekend was the Long Beach State women's tennis team's final homestand of the year and they made it count. The 49ers won both of their games against Oregon & Cal Poly.
On Friday, the Beach out-dueled Oregon 5-2 for the first win of the weekend.
The big story from this match was LBSU's depth. The bottom half of the the 'Niners' lineup came up with key wins.
Anais Dallara (No. 1 singles) and Deborah Armstrong (No. 3 Singles) were not able to pull off a win, respectively, to make it a sweep.
Saturday's match came against the Big West top seeded Cal Poly, resulting in a 6-1 win.
Since it was the team's last home game and senior day, LBSU honored its only senior, Deborah Armstrong.
Armstrong also played strong – no pun intended. The senior outmatched her opponent 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Malenovska is Good
Klaudia Malenovska, the No. 2 singles player, earned Big West Player of the Week.
Malenovska won her first four matches since coming back from suspension. Her winnining streak was derailed last week by No. 30 Pepperdine. The team as a whole lost that match 4-3.
During interviews, Malenovska mentioned that her success was due to confidence on the court. Malenovska also said she gains more confidence as her playing time increases.
The 'Niners' next action comes on March 31 against Illinois-Chigaco.
