2-25 Match vs. UC Riverside

The women's tennis team moved on to 6-1 overall with a 5-0 victory over UC Riverside on Friday.

The 49ers were without their top player – Anais Dallara.

Assistant coach Hanna Grady said that players have limit of matches they could play. By sitting out this match, Dallara was able to stay within the limit.

This meant every other player had to move up a spot. The 49ers played well, with the exception of Anna Jeczmionka. Jeczmionka lost her first set, 6-4, and was down 5-4 when the second set was stopped due to rain. Since the match wasn't completed, it didn't affect the overall outcome.

Julie Lazar, the player that filled in the void, played exceptionally well, beating her opponent, 6-2, 6-2.

Lazar said she used to play singles a lot the last two years so the pressure wasn't new.  She also said that the always play in practice, so she wasn't rusty at all.
